About

Popcrown founder Andrea Schindler spent  12 years as a high school history teacher before entering a Mrs. pageant for the first time. Crediting her midlife crisis, she entered the Mrs. Virginia pageant in 2023 and won the title Mrs. Virginia American. Her reign was spent styling outfits for the ten day national pageant in Las Vegas and countless appearances she made during her year throughout the state of Virginia, DC, Washington, and Texas. She credits her pageant participation as the push that moved her our of the classroom and into fashion. She attended a summer 2024 intensive at Parsons the New School for Design where she learned patternmaking and garment construction. She left the classroom in 2025 and completed a Fashion Business certificate with Parsons in 2026.

Popcrown was created for women who are looking for colorful head turning looks who aren't afraid to take risks with silhouettes and color. She designs for women who aren't afraid to standout in a room of contestants who prefer to play it safe.  While she loves designing apparel for pageant contestants (interview, check in, rehearsal, and evening gowns) she does custom order one of a kind looks. She often refers to her style of design as if "Kate Middleton went out to lunch with Betsy Johnson" and calls her designs "creative twists of sexy elegance."  Andrea now lives in Missouri with her retired Navy husband and two children and is currently working on a collection she plans to show at various fashion weeks in the Midwest in 2027.
